Digitizing incoming documents

The digitization of the incoming post process is one step of possible optimizations of a work process that is today often still paper-based. The need for adaptation was created primarily by the new work models coming into use (home office) and the need for increased efficiency.

With the digitization of incoming post, the following challenges need to be addressed

  • Location-independent access to all documents
  • Easy search of digitized documents
  • Transparent filing of all documents
  • Reduction of process costs in document handling

An analysis of document handling processes in the insurance industry has revealed potentials.

From the insurance broker's point of view, this includes the receipt, checking and forwarding of documents to the policyholder and vice versa to the insurance company.
Since it can be assumed that for a large part of the incoming paper documents, it is possible to identify the sender via customer number, policy number and/or claim number, it can be ensured that this process can be automated.
